Feng Shui and the Housing Market
Resolution can be found with Feng Shui. Feng Shui is about living in alignment with our natural environment. Consultants assist people in creating joyful environments and harmonizing with their homes and businesses to improve quality of life and accomplish goals. When we are in agreement with what we truly want, there is an environmental law much like gravity that goes to work for us drawing the essence of our desire to us.
The mission critical question for homeowners at risk of losing their home is: Do you want to stay in your home? It is important to take a moment and ask yourself a few questions: Do I love my home? Do I love living here? Do I want to come home every day? Am I grateful for living here?
If the goal is to stay, then start giving your home attention. Our homes are our oasis. They are sacred and where we should feel like we can rest and renew ourselves mentally, physically and spiritually. Simple things that freshen up your home will have dramatic impact. As one example, a client recently changed out her burned out light bulbs and within days received an unsolicited offer from her bank in the mail to modify her loan.
Other people I have worked with have not whole-heartedly applied my recommendations and they have not attained their desired outcome. Truly, people can say they want something and feel differently. It is the feeling that is the truth, not the words. It is our feelings that attract. So, it is paramount that we dig deep and have integrity within ourselves to be honest.
Sometimes, the path of least resistance for a resolution looks a lot different than expected. I've had clients who tell me they want to be debt free and they are emotionally ready to be financially free. If they, with intention of mind, make the Feng Shui adjustments recommended they could either win the lottery or end up filing bankruptcy. So, keep in mind that whatever you are experiencing is what you choose to experience and there is always an opportunity to make a course correction. Feng Shui is just one of the ways you can do that.
Here’s my quick prescription for making a change and inviting new energy into your life: Within the next three days… 1. Move three things in your home (furniture, art, plants) 2. Get rid of three things (throw out broken, chipped, old items 3. Give three things (donate blood, random gifts or acts)
Appreciate the joy this exercise brings you and feel how living in alignment with the natural flow of energy improves your quality of life.

July Pending Home Sales Rebound5 Tips to Create an Outdoor Room
Autumn is the perfect time to enjoy the evening outside; the air is crisp and cool. There are a few comforts that can add to your enjoyment and extend the usable life of your porch, patio, or balcony. The key is to think of your outdoor space like any room in your home.
1. Ground cover. Just like an area rug inside, an outdoor rug helps to define a sitting area and helps warm up cold concrete. Shop end-of-summer sales for the best deals.
2. Furniture. Whether it's a pair of armchairs, a loveseat, or a sectional sofa, make sure the furniture is made for all-weather wear. Cushions - the thicker the better - add comfort.3. Acrylic throws. Perfect to use outside, acrylic throws are warm and cozy but also machine washable. Roll up your throws and place them in a basket near the back door so it's easy to grab one to cover up.
4. Decorative touches. Candles work well outside; if it tends to be windy where you live, think about lanterns that help protect the flame or use LED flameless candles. Display pinecones in a wire basket and scatter leaves (real or faux) on a tabletop. (Hint: Keep the leaves in place with a bit of double-sided tape.)
5. Firepit. A firepit is the outdoor equivalent to a fireplace inside your home and instantly become a gathering spot. Built-in gas firepits are convenient, but if you don't have a spare gas line handy, many wood-burning options may be found in the $80-$200 range at home improvement stores and national retailers, or online at overstock.com. (Always be sure to follow applicable fire codes and HOA rules when using an outdoor fire appliance.)
